The Medical University of Lodz is planning a new Biotechnology Park within the Łódź Special Economic
Zone. The Park will include businesses from the field of biotechnology, medicine and health care. The aim of the new investment is to commercialize the results of scientific research.
“Building an effective model for commercial cooperation between the world of science and business is one of the biggest challenges facing the managers of the Polish science and the community of Polish entrepreneurs.”
The Center for Innovative Technologies in Health Care Ltd is going to operate in the frame of the Medical University Central Teaching Hospital in Campus Czechosłowacka on approximately 4000 m².

On November, 5th the representatives of the MUL and the ŁSSE held a conference on the Project of the Biotechnology Park, or the Bioincubator. An analysis of the market on the potential for such a facility in Łódź was presented at the conference which was organized at the Central Teaching Hospital.
The Rector of the MUL, Prof. Paweł Górski and the Chair of the Łodź Special Economic Zone Marek Cieślak agreed that Łódź has not been encouraging for innovative technologies, but it will soon be thanks to the new joint project. The field of biotechnology is the new strategy for the development of the city and the region and the analysis shows there is need for co-operation between sciences and businesses.
