

On 21st Oct. 2011 Professor Thomas Slaga received an Honorary Doctorate of the Medical University of Lodz. Professor is a world-famous investigator in the field of cancer biology, especially experimental chemical carcinogenesis.


The Board of Governors of the MUL has decided to honor this outstanding scientist for both his input in the development of contemporary medicine and for over 30 years of successful support for Polish researchers form the Medical University before, and now Medical University of Lodz.


Professor mentioned many Polish names while thanking his co-operators, who were invited to work in MD Anderson Cancer Center Science-Park Research Division in Smithville, Texas, which he runs. For those scientist it became a milestone in their scientic career.

During the ceremony Professor gave a lecture on "Pursuit of very effective anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agents without the typical side-effects".
