
IFMSA-Poland has a new President
In the vote on January the 24th a new President was elected to the Łódź branch - Ms. Karolina Mroczkowska.
The Łódź branch is one of the most active in Poland, for wich they were awarded by the IFMSA General Board for the most dynamically developing branch.
IFMSA-Poland, Łódź has over 200 members who work in the framework of six programs: Summer Placements, Research Exchange, Medical Education, Reproductive Health and AIDS as well as Human Rights and Peace.
The International Federation of Medical Student Associations IFMSA-Poland is a non-profit, independent, apolitical organisation which groups medical students and young doctors. It is the largest student organisation in the world with over one million associates from one hundred countries all over the globe.
The students associated in IFMSA have the opportunity to develop their interests in the field of medical studies as well as those beyond the scope of medicine, and to create networks of students from other countries. Taking part in
international projects, konferences and workshops allows our members to raise professional qualifications and gain new knowledge and skills necessary for the best quality of service.
One of the activities is organization of social actions (Teddy Bear Hospital, Fashion Show aginst eating disorders)
promotion of public health (obesity, diabetes), professional workshops, human rights iniciatives (with Amnesty International, UNICEF), international exchange and practice.
The Łódź branch's work is supported by the Medical University of Lodz.
